The home that is now The Burke Manor Inn, an historic North Carolina bed and breakfast, has been painstakingly restored to its original 1906 grandeur as designed by the Cone family and later the Burkes.
Originally owned and built on the 303 Burke Street site by Clarence Cone, a textile magnate (Cone Mills), the Gibsonville, NC home was sold to J.W. Burke in 1911. Four generations of Burkes resided in the house until the home was sold to Vernon and Lynn Brady in May of 1999. The Inn is named in honor of its previous, long time owners, Mr. & Mrs. J.W. Burke, who were outstanding citizens in our community, county and the state of North Carolina.
During restoration the owners, Vernon and Lynn Brady, carefully designed the Inn to preserve the integrity of the original home
while creating luxury accommodations. Work began on June 2nd, 1999 and the Brady's worked 12 to 14 hours per day, six days a week with a goal of serving Christmas dinners in December. Some laughed, others doubted but in December 1999 the Inn opened and served dinners during the holidays. Immediately, the standard of excellence was set and the Inn was on its way to becoming one of the top inns in NC. With all the modern conveniences that we've come to expect from hotel lodging but with the privacy and personalization of a bed and breakfast, The Burke Manor Inn is an ideal choice.
